Fun
It’s so hot here and the sky is blue. I went to town after the induction to sort out the mobile internet for OopsyDaisy. Had to get an iced mocha from Butlers and was treated to doner burger by CQ for lunch :)
‘Work’
Really packed. And we haven’t even started anything yet. Just the induction - taking bloods, ABGs (that painful one, when you hit the bone, which you’re not supposed to), catheterisations, NGTs (tube down the nose into the tummy), DRE (digital rectal exam). Sooooo hungry. We didn’t even have any lunch break.
Our new surgical tutor - uncanny resemblance to Dharma from ‘Dharma and Greg’.
I called OopsyDaisy hospital and will be shadowing the team for the first two days, before I get to do any hands-on stuff.
Everyone was wide awake and very much into it whenthey were talking about annual leave and allowance and stuff. Oh yes.
Free stuff
Pendrives, wireless mouses/mice, pens etc. The scheme is still the same, so, we also get FREE LAPTOPS! yay! ^_^ Any ideas (within 2000 euros)?
Sad
I lost my voodoo doll :( It happened some time between getting myself poked in the arms and catheterising the dummy. It’s probably a payback of some sort for laughing at alang when her voodoo doll lost both eyes.
